When you are your truest, authentic self you know it. You feel it deeply in your spirit, soul, and whole being. You feel deeply aligned with your life and act in ways that are genuine to your true self. This goes beyond what your job/career is, who you are to others in your life, and what you have. It is about being in touch and connected with the honest and purest expression of the essence of your being (soul, spirit).
For many of us, we hide aspects of who we are or hold ourselves back from what we want to say or what we want to do – or we might not even know who we are and what we want. Connecting to our authentic self then becomes the most essential thing we can do in order to live a life more aligned with the essence of who we are and creates the space to live a life with fulfillment and meaning.

✨ Here are 3 powerful ways to begin the practice of connecting with your authentic self ✨
- Become curious about who you are
- Approach yourself with curiosity every moment. Take some time to reflect on what your strengths are, what are the values you live your life by and what do you want out of life. You can also reflect on how you have become the person that you are today as a result of all the past experiences, life events, people in your life, community, culture, and larger societal/cultural narrative.
- Connect to your truth
- What are ways you can start speaking and acting in your truth? Do you hold your truth in? Are you having to hide aspects of who you are or have to present a “false image”?
- Practice doing daily or weekly check-ins with yourself where you ask yourself, did I live by my truth today? You’ll notice the question will automatically generate an answer within you. The true essence of who you are will know how to answer this question.
- Pay attention to the moments when your heart lights up
- We all have those sparks. As you go through your day, focus on what are the things that make you spark and fires you up inside. When you intentionally pay attention to what lights you up, this is an indication that you are doing something or saying something that is deeply touching your true self and the essence of who you are. Study those moments and see how this insight can shape your path.
