Change is not always easy, but it is possible. If you find yourself stuck in a cycle of bad habits, it’s time to take charge and make a positive transformation.
Take note of your current habits
The first step is to write down your habits – this simple act brings awareness to the patterns that may be holding you back.
Take some time to sit in a quiet place with a piece of paper and write down YOUR habits; the things you do every day, every week, every month.
Put this all on a list and number them.
Rate your habits
Next, evaluate your habits honestly. Rate your habits! Put a + if this habit adds wellness to your life. Put a / if this habit is neutral. Put a – is this habit does not add wellness to your life.
As you go through your list, ask yourself, “Will these habits help me be the best version of myself?”
For example:
- Wake up and look at my phone ( – )
- Brush my teeth ( + )
- Change clothes ( / )
- Eat oatmeal (+)
Create new habits
Now comes the exciting part – creating new habits. Start small and set achievable goals.
First consider what are some qualities you want more of in your life? DO you want more joy? Creativity? Inspiration? Time in nature? Relaxation? Exercise? Think about what you want to add to your life.
Then, what are some healthy habits that are aligned with some of those things? For example, wanting to add more exercise in your life you might want to try out going on a walk every morning for 10 minutes. Write down these habits and try them out!
Remember, change takes time and consistency. Surround yourself with positive influences and seek support from loved ones who believe in your journey.
Believe in yourself and know that you have the power to break free from habits that no longer serve you. Embrace the process of change, for it is through our challenges that we grow stronger and become the best versions of ourselves.
