About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and first-generation Latina Mental Health Therapist (pronouns she/ella). I am currently a Ph.D. student at the School of Social Welfare at the University of California, Berkeley. I hold a Master’s Degree in Social Work from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and Bachelor’s Degrees in Psychology and Social Behavior and Education Sciences from the University of California, Irvine.

I come to this work as a daughter of immigrant parents from Mexico. I bring a diverse background of professional experience as a licensed mental health therapist and social worker, having served Latinx immigrant families and LGBTQ+ youth in Los Angeles, California.

I grew up in a multigenerational family home in Los Angeles, California. My story of becoming a therapist started with my abuela (grandmother) who was a curandera (healer) and helped others heal their pain by listening to their concerns and guiding them to take care of themselves through body, mind, and spirit. Her natural inclination to heal and nurture others inspired me to pursue a helping profession in social work. My abuela’s healing work has greatly influenced my story and inspired me to become the therapist I am today.

Outside of my practice, I enjoy spending time in nature, hiking, traveling, dancing, and baking sweets like Conchas and cinnamon rolls.
